Retinol vs. Cacay Oil

What is retinol and what does it do?

Retinol is a Vitamin A derivative that is known to help encourage cell turnover, resulting in smoother, more even skin. This cell renewal process also helps to increase collagen production and skin elasticity which over time creates a “plumping” effect that can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Considering what a game changer this is, it’s no wonder retinol has become an MVP in skin care – but it’s not for everyone.

Retinol side effects?

Many people who try retinol are not able to tolerate it and can experience dry, irritated skin. Redness, itchiness and peeling are common side effects, making retinol difficult for many. retinol users also need to be mindful of increased sun sensitivity.

Introducing, Our Amazing Retinol-alternative

Taking care of our skin means feeling comfortable and happy in our skin, always. Our Beija Flor ™ Elasti-Cream is blended with a gentle retinol-alternative – Cacay Oil. This may just be one of the Amazon’s best kept secrets – a wonder ingredient when it comes to maintaining youthful, nourished, bouncy skin. Cacay Oil, which is cold pressed from the seeds of the Cacay tree, is brimming with vitamins and essential fatty acids, like linoleic acid. It’s gentle and effective as it deeply replenishes and nourishes skin to offset signs of aging -without increasing sun sensitivity.

Is Beija Flor™ Elasti-Cream just for my body?

Retinol has mostly been associated with facial skin care, but we think, why should your face get all the love? In Brazil, we lavish attention on every inch of our skin and we believe in glowy, happy, flauntable skin, down to our toes. As our natural (and effective) alternative to retinol, Cacay Oil is ideal for the body and can be lavished on your skin from neck to toe. Our Beija Flor™ Elasti-Cream really is the Sol de Janeiro Secret to the bouncy, velvety soft skin we love.
